In Celebration of 2023 and Homewood’s Youth
300+ members of the Homewood community came out to break bread with the Village for our final night of fellowship and fun before we wrap up 2023.
December 7th was a night to celebrate. We honored students from Homewood community schools who maintained or improved their Behavior, Attendance, and/or Grades through our BAG Challenge. Eligible students participated in a gift raffle, winning prizes such as Apple AirPods, gift cards, instant photo cameras, and more! We also gave special recognition to Mr. Allen, a member of our Village and teacher at Lincoln Elementary. After 32 years as an educator for PPS, Mr. Allen is retiring, and we wanted to use this as an opportunity to thank him for his service and dedication to the students in our community.
During the evening, we were entertained by DJ QRX and the Faison K-5 and Lincoln Elementary choirs, who performed for everyone. We also offered a Wellness Wonderland, designed to help our Homewood youth de-stress through activities like yoga, emotional bingo, a drawing wall, and stress ball making. Although, from the looks of the Wonderland, the kids were more in the mood to party than de-stress, but they were definitely having a TON of fun.
